You’re a Cubs Fan, eh?

Featured Destination:  Toronto in a Weekend!

We flew from Chicago to Buffalo, rented a car, and hit the wineries!  On our way from Buffalo to Toronto there are a number of local wineries that we visited including Wayne Gretzky Estates.  The views are breath taking, the ice wine is chilled, lunch was light, and it was romantic to say the least.

This is where I met my first love of my life, Jason Priestly! He showed up with a camera crew for a documentary on the wine trail.  The Niagara Wine Trail is definitely something the Canadians should be proud of.  I will blog more about the trail and its Ice Wine Festival soon!

We arrived in Toronto and stayed at The Strathcona Hotel. A clean and cute boutique hotel. It was a short walk to Rogers Stadium and the CN Tower.    We spent a day at the Cubs vs. Blue Jays baseball game.  I love a stadium with a retractable dome!  All that work to close the dome and it only rained for a few minutes.

The Entertainment District in downtown Toronto is a great place to go get dinner, hit up the theater, or even check out a band.  The true Chicagoans we are, we hit up Second City Toronto and had a great night.  For big hockey fans, the Hockey Hall of Fame is also downtown.  Toronto is a beautiful, clean city, and a great weekend!
