Costa Rica Top Three

Let us wrap up Costa Rica week with a preferred itinerary.  There is so much to see, it would be a shame to miss one of the big three attractions.   Depending on which destination you want to hit first would be the deciding factor of which airport you could utilize.  There are many, though Liberia and San Jose are the only two that offer direct flights from the states.

Tamarindo
The beaches are so beautiful and rustic in Tamarindo you may not want to leave.  With new luxury resorts opening frequently, there are a lot of options for accommodations.  Tamarindo is said to have the best surf in the world.  Young and old, experienced and novice can take surfing lessons by the locals.  This surf town has fun and relaxation, making you want to forget everything at home and just sell t-shirts on the beach.

Manuel Antonio
If you would like to see wild monkeys up close and personal, this is the beach for you.  When you visit this National Park, you will walk the rain forest, admire its lush terrain, abundant wildlife, and then you walk out onto the beach.  Thanks to a man with a bag of bananas, the monkeys were swinging from tree to tree just to get to us.  Even when I went to relax, I felt a tug on my towel, and looked up to find a monkey staring back at me.  The town also offers some great boutique hotels and some of the best al fresco dining around.

Arenal Volcan & Las Fortuna Waterfall
I explained this area earlier in the week.  It’s a must see and worth the time to get to there.

The more I talk about Costa Rica, the more I want to go back again and again.  Obviously this list is short and there are numerous other places to highlight.  Though, these are my top three not to miss.  Spend the time to see it all.
