There is so much to say about Jamaica I would like to continue Jamaica week!
Honeymoons are traditional and in my opinion, crucial! It’s one of the best times of your life to soak in newlywed bliss and the sun. When the next step arrives and your first baby is on the way, there is no better time to celebrate your relationship and relish in your growing belly than a Babymoon. After going on my Babymoon and being a mom for over a year, I think Babymoons should be just as traditional. Your life completely changes after a baby and I was so thankful to have the relaxing memories of sitting on the beach, having long conversations about nothing with my hubby, and eating whatever I wanted!
For 7 nights we chilled in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I love Montego Bay for its convenience. With bathroom breaks on rise, I couldn’t spend an hour and half in transfers to go to my favorite beach, Negril. A 20 minute commute was perfect! We stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. It is an all-inclusive, all suite hotel. The hotel was so new at the time, we were actually there during their introductory period and scored some great rates.
We were so happy with the hospitality of the Jamaican people and the resort. The food was great, even the buffet! Twice a week they held a barbeque on the beach with Jerk Chicken, Rice & Beans, this great corn on the cob that was boiled in coconut water and so much more. Plus, they had a great live Reggae band on the beach with a steal drum. Sitting in my lounge chair, listening to the band, and eating great food was probably one of my favorite memories of the trip. Well that and sitting in a big tube in the lazy river around the pool, so we will call it a tie!
If you were so inclined the resort offers a shuttle to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville or you could take in the entertainment right on the property. One night we saw a great Reggae band with a lead singer that would give Lauren Hill a run for her money. Another night there was a Michael Jackson impersonator that was super fun. All in all, we loved the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and would recommend it to all Babymooners!
Here are my TIPS to a great Babymoon:
DO get the OK from your doctor no matter how far along you are in your pregnancy. No Worries, Mon!
DO get a doctor’s note before you travel for a pregnancy massage at the resort’s spa.
DO plan something nice, this is not the time to rough it.
DO wear more sun block than you ever have. I learned the hard way about pregnancy mask. YIKES!
DO drink a ton of water.
DO take a ton of belly pics!
DON’T over do it! This is the time to relax and get some sleep.
DO plan a Babymoon for your second, third, fourth… pregnancies also. Maybe these vacations are a little shorter but never a better time to sit back and relax before things get busy again!
I hope you enjoyed the run down of my Babymoon! If you would like to take a Babymoon like this one, let me know, I would love to help you plan it!
